2010 Intermediate Instructional Summer Program

It's no secret: the best hockey players have always been those who have been able to combine raw skating speed with an almost intuitive understanding of the game. The 2010 Adult Hockey Association (AHA) Intermediate Instructional Summer Program will offer rigorous on-ice skills training that will help you to become both a faster skater and a more creative and resourceful team player.

Drawing on a pool of instructors who have playing experience in both the College and Junior ranks, the program will be focused on the development of skating, speed/agility, and lightning fast on-ice decision making. The program will be skating intensive and will incorporate overspeed skating exercises in order to help you become a faster, more confident player. The instructors will assist you with immediate on-ice feedback concerning your stride mechanics and positional play. We will also be offering an off-ice shooting tutorial(s) as part of the program.

The program (eight 90 minute on-ice sessions) will take place on Wednesday evenings from June 23rd thru August 11th at the St. Louis Park Rec Center. Cost for the program is $270.00, and you must be registered with USA Hockey. (If you participated in an AHA Program in Fall or Winter of 2009-2010 you are already registered with USA Hockey.) If you have any additional questions concerning program content, please contact instructor@ahahockey.com.
