AHA Womens Programs

Adult Hockey Association has programs designed for everyone from the beginning hockey player to intermediate level players.

Learn Hockey

Beginner School gives women who have never played organized hockey a chance to learn to play hockey.
November - April and April - August.

Play Hockey

Women's Winter League started in 2012-13 and continues for a second season in 2013-14. The skill level consists of C3/D1 players, which is roughly equivalent to WHAM's B3/C1 levels. For lower level players, see the Women's Beginner School below.
October - April

Women's Fall League is for players of all abilities and designed as an opportunity to play real games while shaking the rust of the skates leading up to the Winter League. We encourage players to register individually or in small groups. Teams are assembled by AHA with parity in mind and having individuals and small groups register allows greater flexibility to maintain parity.

Summer League is designed to be a little bit more relaxed than our Winter Program. During the Summer we encourage forming teams with a mix of players from other AHA Winter teams or with players new to the league. This mix promotes improved sportsmanship and allows players to test and sometimes improve their skills. A light-weight jersey is provided so that everyone on the team has the same jersey.
June - August

Clinics

Beginner Skills Clinic is geared towards women that are new to hockey and want to learn skill development and more about the game of hockey. This five-week clinic is a continuation of our successful Spring Beginner Skills Clinic and will go through everything from the basics of hockey, skating, and teamwork including game-like situations. Participation in previous clinics is not a prerequisite.
Spring, Summer, Fall

Intermediate Skills Clinic is geared towards women with a few years of hockey experience that want to further develop their skills. This five-week clinic is a continuation of our successful Spring Intermediate Skills Clinic and will go through skating, stick handling, shooting, and teamwork at an intermediate pace. Participation in previous or Beginner clinic is not a prerequisite.
Spring, Summer, Fall

Evaluations

To ensure parity at all levels and that players play at the correct level according to their ability, all new players for league play are required to attend an evaluation session.
